The Arduino was grafted into my partly built Cybot. it worked - sort of, but other projects have priority.
Robotics and other technology things...
fixed an old link for Futurebots. Sanguino is the big brother to the Arduino: I have one with an eye to the RepRap 3D printing machines..
Arduino, an avr-based microcontroller system for well, controlling stuff: it is Open Source hardware and software; you can build your own PCBs from scratch (all plans, layouts and schematics/circuit diagrams are available) or buy ready to go modules from people in different parts of the world to hack upon as you wish. There is a small but growing community working and inventing with this device/electronic art/thingy. Addon cards (they are all oddly shaped) are called shields. The Cybot will get an infusion of Arduino!!
FutureBot.com have some interesting parts, including older memory devices and useful devices for your pet robot project. I bought one of their CMU camera units on eBay and it worked Ok as a primitive messaging cam- I think it could make an interesting detector...
Robots Magazine - interesting, but leaning towards robotics kits and competition models. Lots of interesting ads for bits suppliers. another attempt to get USians interested in making rather than just consuming technology. A bit gungho in spots...

The Real Robots kits haven't been completed yet. I am looking at other robotic stuff with the Atmel controller chips when I get a sliver of free time...
